Surah “The Emissaries, Winds Sent Forth”

as rendered by Talal Itani & AI (2025) — 50 verses

By those sent forth in succession.
Then raging in tempest.
And spreading far and wide.
Then separating with distinction.
Then delivering a reminder.
As excuse or warning.
What you are promised will surely come to pass.
When the stars are extinguished.
When the sky is torn open.
When the mountains are blown away.
When the messengers are given their appointed time.
For what Day have they been delayed?
For the Day of Distinction.
What will make you realize what the Day of Distinction is?
Woe on that Day to the deniers.
Did We not destroy the former peoples?
Then We will make the later ones follow them.
This is how We deal with the wicked.
Woe on that Day to the deniers.
Did We not create you from a worthless fluid?
Then We placed it in a secure resting place.
Until a known term.
We determined it, and how excellent are We at determining.
Woe on that Day to the deniers.
Did We not make the earth a container.
For the living and the dead?
We placed on it towering mountains and gave you fresh water to drink.
Woe on that Day to the deniers.
Proceed to what you used to deny.
Proceed to a shadow of three columns.
Giving no shade and no protection from the flames.
It hurls sparks as huge as palaces.
Like tawny camels.
Woe on that Day to the deniers.
This is a Day when they will not speak.
Nor will they be permitted to make excuses.
Woe on that Day to the deniers.
This is the Day of Distinction. We have gathered you and the former peoples.
So if you have a scheme, then scheme against Me.
Woe on that Day to the deniers.
Those who were mindful of God will be amid shades and springs.
And fruits of whatever they desire.
Eat and drink with pleasure for what you used to do.
This is how We reward those who do good.
Woe on that Day to the deniers.
Eat and enjoy yourselves a little, for you are wicked.
Woe on that Day to the deniers.
When they are told to bow down, they do not bow.
Woe on that Day to the deniers.
In what message after this will they believe?
