Surah “Man”

as rendered by Talal Itani & AI (2025) — 31 verses

Has there not come upon man a period of time when he was nothing worth mentioning?
We created man from a drop of mingled fluid to test him, and We made him hearing and seeing.
We showed him the path, whether he be grateful or ungrateful.
We have prepared for the disbelievers chains, shackles, and a blazing fire.
The righteous will drink from a cup mixed with camphor.
A spring from which the servants of God will drink, making it gush forth abundantly.
They fulfill their vows and fear a Day whose evil spreads far and wide.
They feed the poor, the orphan, and the captive out of love for Him.
"We feed you only for the Face of God. We want no reward from you, nor any thanks.
We fear from our Lord a Day, grim and devastating."
So God protected them from the evil of that Day and granted them radiance and joy.
He rewarded them for their patience with a garden and silk.
Reclining there on couches, they will see neither scorching sun nor bitter cold.
Its shade will hang low over them, and its fruit clusters will be brought within easy reach.
They will be served with vessels of silver and cups of crystal.
Crystal of silver, measured to perfection.
They will be given a cup to drink, mixed with ginger.
From a spring there called Salsabil.
Eternal youths will circulate among them. When you see them, you would think them scattered pearls.
When you look around, you will see bliss and a vast kingdom.
They will wear garments of green silk and brocade. They will be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord will give them a pure drink.
"This is your reward, and your effort has been appreciated."
We have sent down the Quran to you in stages.
So be patient for the judgment of your Lord, and do not obey any sinner or ungrateful one among them.
Remember the name of your Lord morning and evening.
During the night, prostrate to Him and glorify Him through the long night.
These people love the fleeting world and leave behind them a heavy Day.
We created them and strengthened their forms. Whenever We will, We can replace them with others like them.
This is a reminder. Whoever wills may take a path to his Lord.
But you cannot will unless God wills. God is All-Knowing, All-Wise.
He admits whom He wills into His mercy. As for the wrongdoers, He has prepared for them a painful punishment.
