What are they asking one another about?
About the momentous news.
The one over which they disagree.
No! They will come to know.
Then again, no! They will come to know.
Did We not make the earth a resting place?
And the mountains as stakes?
And We created you in pairs.
And We made your sleep for rest.
And We made the night a covering.
And We made the day for livelihood.
And We built above you seven firm ones.
And We placed a blazing lamp.
And We sent down from the rain clouds water pouring in torrents.
To bring forth with it grain and vegetation.
And gardens dense with growth.
The Day of Separation has an appointed time.
The Day the Horn is blown and you come forth in crowds.
The sky is opened and becomes gateways.
The mountains are set in motion and become a mirage.
Hell lies in ambush.
A destination for the transgressors.
They will remain there for ages.
They will taste there neither coolness nor drink.
Except scalding water and oozing pus.
A fitting recompense.
They never expected a reckoning.
They utterly denied Our verses.
But We have recorded everything in a book.
So taste! We will only increase you in punishment.
For the mindful there is triumph.
Gardens and vineyards.
And full-breasted companions of equal age.
And cups filled to the brim.
They will hear there no idle talk and no lies.
A reward from your Lord, a calculated gift.
Lord of the heavens and the earth and everything between them, the Most Merciful. They possess no authority to address Him.
The Day the Spirit and the angels stand in rows, none will speak except those permitted by the Most Merciful, and they will say only what is right.
That is the True Day. So whoever wills, let him take a path back to his Lord.
We have warned you of a punishment close at hand, the Day when a person will see what his own hands have sent ahead, and the disbeliever will cry, "If only I were dust!"
