Surah “She That is to be Examined, Examining her, She Who is Tested”

as rendered by Zulfiquar Ali Bhotto — 13 verses

O you who believed, do not take My enemies and your enemies as friends, throwing yourselves to them with the love while they already disbelieved in what came to you of the truth. They exited out the Prophet and you [only] that you believe in Allah, your Lord. If you have exited out for jihad in My way and seeking My satisfaction [why] do you confide to them about the love? And I am most knowing about what you have concealed and what you have announced. And whoever does it from you, for sure he has strayed from the balanced way.
If [those apparent friends] gain the upper hand over you, they would become foes to you and extend to you their hands and their tongues with the evil, and they wish you would disbelieve.
Not will avail you, your relatives and not [will avail you,] your children on the Day of Resurrection. He will judge between your [relatives, children]. And Allah, about whatever you do, is Seer.
There has already been for you an excellent example in Abraham and those with him, when they said to their people, "Indeed, we are free from you and from whatever you worship other than Allah. We have rejected your all about, and there has appeared between us and between you animosity and hatred forever until you believe in Allah alone" except for Abraham's saying to his father, `I will surely ask forgiveness for you, but unfortunately I own from Allah nothing for you.', "Our Lord, upon You we have relied, and to You we have returned, and to You is the destiny.
Our Lord, make us not a test [about straying us in love like Qur'an 60:2] for those who disbelieved and forgive us, our Lord. Indeed, it is You who is the Invincible, the Irrefutable."
There has already been for you in them an excellent example for whoever is hoped in Allah and the Last Day. And whoever turns away, for sure, Allah is the Rich, the Praiseworthy.
It may be that Allah will set up love between you and between those to whom you have been enemies from them. And Allah is competent, and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
Allah does not prohibit you on, those who do not fight you in the religion and do not exit you from your homes, that you be kind to them and be just to them. Indeed, Allah loves those who are just.
Allah only prohibits you on, those who fight you in the religion and exit you from your homes and back up upon your exiting out, that you make them allies. And whoever makes them allies, then those, they are the oppressors.
O you who believed, when the believing women come to you as emigrants, then examine them. Allah is most knowing about their faith. And if you know them to be believers, then do not return them to the infidels; they are not lawful [wives] for [the infidels], nor are [the infidels] lawful [husbands] for them. And pay [the infidels] what they have spent [as dowries]. And there is no blame upon you if you marry them when you have given them their due dowries. And do not maintain with marriage bonds with disbelieving women. And ask for what you have spent [on their dowries] and let [the infidels] ask for what they have spent. That is the discretion of Allah; He will settle things between you. And Allah is all-Knowing, Indisputable.
And if a thing [dowry], from your wives have gone away [while fleeing] to the infidels and later your turn comes [gaining war booties], then give those whose wives have gone away, the like of what they had spent. And fear Allah, the one who you are believing in.
O Prophet, when the believing women come to you pledging you upon that they will not associate anything with Allah, nor they will steal, nor they will commit adultery, nor they will kill their children, nor they will bring about a slander they invented between their arms and legs, nor will they disobey you in the right, then accept their pledge and ask forgiveness for them of Allah. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
O you who believed, do not make allies of a people whom Allah has wrath upon them. "They already have despaired of the Hereafter just as the infidels have despaired of the graves' companions.
