Praise be to Allah, the one who sent down upon His slave, the Book and did not make thereto a crookedness.
Well-straightened, to warn of a severe punishment of His welcoming [Qur'an 18:48] and give good tidings to the believers who work righteous deeds that for them is a beautiful reward.
They will abide in it forever.
And to warn those who say, "Allah has taken a son."
They have about him no knowledge, nor do their forefathers. Grave is the saying that comes out of their mouths. Left is nothing they may say, except a lie.
So perhaps you would overburden yourself over their aftermath, [O Muhammad], if they do not believe in this narration, sorrowfully.
Indeed, We set up whatever is on the earth as an adornment for the earth that We may test mankind which of them is best in deeds [enjoying and taking care of its adornments or corrupting it Qur'an, Qur'an 18:99, Qur'an 4:119, Qur'an 30:41].
And indeed, We will indeed make [the earth] by what is upon it [its adornments: ecosystem, climate, environment], a barren earth.
Or have you [O Muhammad] thought that the companions of the cave and of the Ar-Raqeem mountain they were from Our signs, a wonder?
When the youths retreated to the cave and said, "Our Lord, grant us from Your welcome, mercy and facilitate for us from our affair right guidance."
So We cast upon their ears [a state of coma] in the cave for a number of years.
Then We awakened them that We might show which of the two factions [Qur'an 18:9] was most precise in calculating to what [extent] they had remained in time.
It is We who relate to you, [O Muhammad], their story in the truth. Indeed, they were youths who believed in their Lord, and We increased them in guidance.
And We bound over their hearts when they get up and said, "Our Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth. We will not call other than Him any God. We would have certainly spoken, then, an excessive transgression.
These, our people, have taken besides Him deities. Why do they not bring upon them about, an obvious authority? So who was more oppressor than one who invented against Allah lies?"
"And now that you have dropped them and whatever they worship except Allah, so seek shelter towards the cave. Your Lord will spread out for you of His mercy and will prepare for you of your affair a facility."
And [had you been present], you would see the sun when it rose, inclining away from their cave on the right, and when it set, turn away from them on the left, while they were in an open space thereof. That was from Allah `s signs. He whom Allah guides then he is the guided one, but he whom He leaves astray - you will not find for him a guide, protecting.
And you would think them awake, while they were asleep [in coma]. And We turn them around to the right and to the left, while their dog stretched his two forelegs in the entrance. If you had looked upon them, you would have turned away from them in flight and been filled in terror from them.
And similarly, We sent the two factions [Quran Qur'an 18:9] off to inquire between them, a speaker from them asked, "How long have you remained [here]?" They said, "We have remained a day or part of a day." They said, "Your Lord is most knowing about what duration you have remained. So send one of you with this silver coin of yours to the city and let him find which is the purest food and bring you provision from it and let him be cautious. And let not beware about you, anyone.
Indeed, if they come to light upon [know] you, they will stone you or return you in their religion. And you will not succeed, then - ever."
And similarly, We caused them to be encountered on [a time] that they [pagans] might know that the promise of Allah is true and that of the Hour there is no doubt therein. [A time] when they disputed about their affair between them [two sides of the encounter]. So they [pagans] said, "Construct over them a structure. Their Lord is most knowing about them." Said those who prevailed in the matter, "We will surely take [for ourselves] over them a masjid."
They will say, "Three, their fourth being their dog"; and they will say, "Five, their sixth being their dog',' - throwing in the unseen; and they will say, "Seven, and their eighth being their dog,". Say [O Muhammad], "My Lord is most knowing about their number. What is their knowledge except a little? So there is nothing to exercise about them except obvious doubt and there is no one from them to give ruling concerning them."
And do not say to a thing, "Indeed, I will do that tomorrow,"
Except that, "Allah wills." And remember your Lord if you forget, and say, "Perhaps my Lord will guide me to a more welcoming right conduct out of this."
And they remained in their cave for three hundred years in addition to nine more.
Say, " Allah is most knowing about whatever [state, duration, number, place] they remained. For Him is the unseen of the heavens and the earth. He clearly sees through the unseen and [also] hears [the past]! For them other than Him there is no protector, and He shares concerning His establishment [the how-to of 309 years, Qur'an 18: 25 ] with no one."
And recite, [O Muhammad], what has been revealed to you from your Lord's Book. There is no one to change His words [promise, Qur'an 18: 26 ], and you will not find a refuge other than Him.
And be patient yourself with those who call their Lord in the morning and the evening, wanting His Face. And let not your eyes pass away from them, desiring the life's adornments, the world, and do not obey whom We have made his heart heedless of Our remembrance and he followed his desire and his affair was garbage.
And say, "The truth is from your Lord, so whoever wills - then let him believe; and whoever wills - then let him disbelieve." Indeed, We have prepared for the oppressors a fire whose pavilion will surround them with. And if they cry for help, they will be helped with water like molten brass, scalding the faces. Wretched is the drink, and evil is the the place of rest.
Indeed, those who believed and done righteous deeds - indeed, We will not let go waste the reward of one who did good deeds.
Those for them shall be the Gardens of Eden; flowing would be from beneath them the rivers. They will be adorning therein from bracelets of gold and will be wearing green garments of fine silk and brocade, reclining therein on adorned couches. Excellent is the reward, and good is the resting place.
And knock for them an example of two men: We granted to one of them two gardens of grapevines, and We brim them with palm trees and placed between them vegetation.
Each of the two gardens brought its produce [in full] and wronging there nothing. And We caused a river to gush forth in between them.
And there was for him produces, so he said to his friend while he was conversing about it, "I am greater than you in wealth and mightier in manpower."
And he entered his garden while he was oppressing to himself. He said, "I do not think that this will perish - ever.
And I do not think the Hour [Day of Resurrection] will be established. And even if I should be brought back to my Lord, I will surely find better than this, a resort."
His friend said to him while he was conversing about it, "Have you disbelieved in He who created you from dust and then from a sperm-drop and then fashioned you [as] a man?
But as for me, He is Allah, my Lord, and I do not associate with my Lord anyone.
And why not you, when you entered your garden, you say, `Like what Allah willed; there is no power except in Allah'? If you see me less than you in wealth and children,
So perhaps my Lord to give me better than your garden and He will send against it a calculation [calamity] from the sky, then it will become a slippery, dusty ground,
Or the river's water sinks deep, so you would not be able to fetch it."
And He was surrounded by his [collapsed] produces so he began twisting his hands [in dismay] over what he had spent in it, while it had collapsed upon its trellises, and said, "Oh, I wish I had not associated with my Lord anyone."
And there was for him no company to help him other than Allah, and he was not supported.
In such situations, the protection belongs to Allah, the Truth. He is the best in reward and best in outcome.
And knock for them the example of the life of the world, like rain which We send down from the sky, then the earth's vegetation mingles with it, then it becomes dry stalks, the winds scatter it. And Allah is ever, over everything, Competent.
Wealth and children are adornment of the life of the world while the lasting righteous deeds are better with your Lord for reward and better for [one's] hope.
And [warn of] a Day when We will move the mountains and you will see the earth prominent, and We would gather them all, so We quit none of them.
And they will be presented upon your Lord in rows, [with the opening statement], "You have certainly come to Us just as We created you the first time. No but is there! You claimed that, `We shall not make for you an appointment.'"
And the book will be placed [Quran Qur'an 17:13], and you will see the criminals fearful of what is in it, and they will say, "Oh, woe to us! What is this, the book! it leaves nothing small or great except that it has enumerated that?" And they will find what they worked before is present. And your Lord does injustice to no one.
And [mention] when We said to the angels, "Prostrate to Adam," and they prostrated, except for Iblees. He was of the jinn and departed from the command of his Lord. Then will you [O Mankind] take him and his descendants as allies other than Me while they are to you enemies? Wretched it is for the oppressors as an exchange.
I did not make them [Jinn and Angels] witness to the creation of the heavens and the earth or to the creation of themselves, and I never take the misleaders [Iblees and his descendants, Qur'an 18:50] as assistants [to be so, Qur'an 21:23].
And [warn of] the Day when He will say, "Call `My partners' whom you claimed," then they will invoke them, so they will not respond to them. And We will make the call mutually perilous between them [they and their partners].
And the criminals saw the Fire then assumed that they would befall into it so they did not find from their assumption a way out.
And We have certainly resolved in this the Qur'an for mankind from every example [of their disputes] and human was quarrelsome in most things.
And what prevented the people that they should believe when the guidance came to them or they should ask forgiveness of their Lord except that there comes to them the way of the former peoples or that the torment should come before them.
And We did not send the messengers except as bringers of good tidings and warners. And those who disbelieved argue by the falsehood, to refute thereby the truth. And they have taken My verses, and what they are warned, in ridicule.
And who is more oppressor than one who is reminded by the verses of his Lord and turns away from them and forgets what his hands have put forth? Indeed, We have placed upon their hearts coverings, lest they understand it, and in their ears deafness. And if you call them to guidance - they will never be guided, then - ever.
And your Lord is the Forgiving, full of mercy. If He were to impose blame upon them with what they earned, for sure He would have hastened for them the punishment. No but is there! For them is an appointment, they will not find a refuge other than it.
And those towns - We destroyed them when they did wrong, and We made for their destruction an appointed time.
And [mention] when Moses said to his male servant, "I will not cease [traveling] until I reach the junction of the two seas [frozen sea, Qur'an 44:24, blazing sea, Qur'an 52:6] or continue for a long period [to learn cognitive sensing of fishes, birds about oceanography regarding early detection of hazards, navigations etc]."
But when they reached the junction between them, they forgot their fish, and it took its course into the [frozen] sea, burrowing [through an ice hole, demoing them its cognitive sense of marine field in finding its right course].
So when they had passed beyond it [the ice-hole], [Moses] said to his male servant, "Bring us our morning meal. We have certainly suffered in this, our journey, [much] fatigue."
He said, "Did you notice when we rested to the [ice] rock? Indeed, I forgot [there] the fish. And none made me forget it except Satan - that I should mention it. And it took its course [through the ice-hole] into the sea amazingly [beyond explanation]".
[Moses] said, "That is what we were seeking [cognitive sensing of right course, the fish just demoed there]." So they returned, following their footprints [on the frozen layer to the ice hole].
And they found [nearby the ice-hole] a slave from among Our slaves to whom We had given mercy from Us and had taught him from Us a [cognitive sensing of ocean/earth field data] knowledge [that certain fishes/birds apply in finding their right course of navigation, getting a safe shelter after predicting storm, cyclone, tsunami, volcano, hostile seasons etc].
Moses said to him, "May I follow you on [the hope] that you teach me some of what you have been taught [by Allah] about right course of action [through cognitive sensing of ocean data, atmospheric data, geological data, earth field data etc]?"
He said, "Indeed, with [cognitive-sense driven person like] me [revelation driven person like] you will not be able to have patience.
And how can you have patience for what you do not encompass of it [cognitive sensing of ocean data, atmospheric data, geological data, earth field data etc] any [prior] knowledge?"
[Moses] said, "You will find me, if Allah wills, patient, and I will not disobey you in [any] order."
He said, "Then if you follow me, do not ask me about anything until I make to you about it mention."
So they set out, until when they had embarked on the ship [in the blazing sea], al-Khidh r tore it open. [Moses] said, "Have you torn it open to drown its people? You have certainly done a grave thing."
[Al-Khidh r] said, "Did I not say that with me you would not be able to have patience?"
[Moses] said, "Do not blame me by what I forgot and do not overburden me from my matter, difficulty."
So they set out [from blazing sea to land], until when they met a boy [an apostate], al-Khidh r killed him. [Moses] said, "Have you killed a pure soul for other than [having killed] a soul? You have certainly done a deplorable thing."
[Al-Khidh r] said, "Did I not tell you that with me you would not be able to have patience?"
[Moses] said, "If I question you on anything after this, then do not accompany me. You have certainly attained from my welcoming, an excuse."
So they set out, until when they came to the people of a town, they asked its people for food, so they refused to guest them. And they found therein a wall wanted to collapse, so al-Khidh r restored it. [Moses] said, "If you wished, you could have taken over it a payment."
[Al-Khidh r] said, "This is parting between me and you. I will inform you the interpretation about which you could not have patience.
As for the ship, it belonged to poor people working at sea. So I intended to cause defect in it as [the field data was] there was after them a king who seized every [good] ship by force.
And as for the boy, his parents were believers, and we [as per the field data] fear that he would overburden them [in continuing living] through his transgression and disbelief [apostasy].
So we intended that their Lord should substitute for them one better than him in purity and closer to [them] in mercy.
And as for the wall, it belonged to two orphan boys in the city, and [the earthfield data was that] there was beneath it a treasure for them, and their father had been righteous. So your Lord intended that they reach maturity and extract their treasure, as a mercy from your Lord. And I did it [and all the rest] not of my own accord. That is the interpretation of that about which you could not have patience [cognitive sensing develops by remaining quiet]."
They ask you [O Prophet] about Zul-Qarnain. Say, "I will recite upon you from him a reminder."
Surely We assigned for him a mundane task, and gave him all the things and means [to accomplish that].
So [to get the resources and means] he pursued a way,
Until he reached the setting time of the sun, he found the sunsetting to be taking place in a spring of murky water and he found nearby a community [named Gog]. We said, "O Zul-Qarnain! Either punish them or treat them kindly [whatever you deem appropriate]."
He responded, "The one [among Gog] who wrongs we will soon punish him [with enslavement], then [one day] he will be returned to his Lord and He will punish him with a horrible torment.
But for the one [among Gog] who believes and does good, he will receive good [safety from me], and we will assign him easy commands."
Then he followed another path [to get further resources and means]
Until he reached the rising time of the sun. He found the sunrise rising over a community [named Magog] for whom We had provided no refuge from it [Zul-Qarnanin's prowess].
So it was [the same that he did with Gog, enslaving the wrongdoers, and rewarding the doers of good]. And We truly had full knowledge of him [about what would be his response].
Then [after having all his resources from his past two ways] he followed a path
Until he reached a pass between two mountains, where he found a community who could hardly understand a word he was saying [that Allah sent him to secure them from Gog and Magog].
They said, "O Zul-Qarnayn, Indeed, Gog and Magog are corrupting this land. Can we set up a payment for you to set up between us and between them a bidirectional barrier [as you have with you a lot of slaves]?
He responded, "What my Lord has established me concerning it is far better [inspiration]. So assist me with resources [like iron, copper], and I will build a barrier between you and between them.
Bring me blocks of iron!" Then, when he had filled up [the gap] between the two mountains, he ordered [his slaves from Gog and Magog], "Blow [the fire]!" When the iron became red hot, he ordered [his slaves from Gog and Magog], "Bring me molten copper to pour over it.”
So they were not able to climb the barrier, nor were able to penetrate through.
He said, "This is a mercy from my Lord [that I was given this task and I did it]; but when the promise of my Lord comes [about the end of my reign], He will level it to dust. The promise of my Lord is ever a true."
And We would leave on that day [the end day of Zul-Quarnain reign] onwards some of them [who escaped his enslavement from Gog and Magog] would be competing over others [in corrupting nature, Qur'an 18:7-8], that would result the Horn to be blown [earlier] and then We would assemble them in [one] assembly.
And We will present Hell on that Day for the infidels, on display.
Those whose eyes had been in cover from My reminder, and they were not able to listen.
Then do those who disbelieve think that they can take My slaves as allies other than Me? Indeed, We have prepared Hell for the infidels as a lodging.
Say, [O Muhammad], "Shall We inform you [people] about the greatest losers in terms of deeds?
Those - their striving in the worldly life was strayed, while they think that they are acquiring good work."
Those are the ones who disbelieve in their Lord's verses and meeting Him. So their deeds have become worthless; and We will not assign to them any weight on the Day of Resurrection.
That is their recompense - Hell - in what they disbelieved and [because] they took My signs and My messengers in mockery.
Indeed, those who believed and worked righteous deeds - were for them Al-Ferdous Paradises, as a lodging,
Wherein they abide eternally. They will not desire from it any transfer.
Say, "If the sea were addendum for [storing interpretations of] the words of my Lord, the sea would be exhausted [to store interpretations] before the words of my Lord were exhausted [from having further meanings], even if we brought the like of it as a supplement."
Say [O Muhammad], "I am only a man like you, to whom has been revealed that your god is only One God. So whoever is hoping to meet his Lord - let him work a righteous work and not associate in the worship of his Lord anyone."
