85:1  By (Wa) the sky (Es'Samaai) containing (Zaati) the constellations (El'Buruuj)*, (25:61)

85:2  and (Wa) the promised (El'Maw'uud) day (El'Yaw'mi), (78:17)

85:3  and (Wa) the witness (Shaahidin) and what was witnessed (Mash'huud).

85:4  The companions (As'haabu) of the furrow (El'Ukh'duud) were killed (Qutila)

85:5  by a fire (En'Naari) containing (Zaati) fuel (El'Waquud)

85:6  while (Iz') they (Hum') were sitting (Qu'uud) around it (Älai'haa);

85:7  for (Wa) they (Hum') were witnesses (Shuhuudu) to (Älaa) what (Maa) they were doing (Yaf'äluuna) to (Bi) the believers (El'Mu'miniina).

85:8  And (Wa) they (of the furrow) only (Maa illa) resented them (Naqamu Min'hum) because (An) they believed (Yu'minu') in GOD (Billahi); the ALMIGHTY (El' Äziizi), the PRAISEWORTHY (El' Hamiid),

85:9  the One (Ellazii) to whom belongs (Lahu) the dominion (67:1) (Mul'ku) of the heavens (Es'Samaawaati) and the earth (Wal' Ar'di), but (Wa) GOD (Ellahu) is witnessing (Shahiid) over (Älaa) all (Kulli) things (Shai'in).

85:10  Indeed (Inna), those who (Ellaziina) tormented (Fatanu') the believing men (El'Mu'miniina) and the believing women (Wal' Mu'minaati) and (Thumma) did not (Lam') repent (Yatuubu'), thus (Fa) they will have (Lahum) the punishment (Äzaabu) of Hell (Jahannama), and (Wa) they will have (Lahum') the punishment (Äzaabu) of the Fire (El'Hariiq).

85:11  Indeed (Inna), those who (Ellaziina) believe (Aamanu') and (Wa) do (Ämilu') good deeds (Es'Soalihaati) will have (Lahum) gardens (Jannaatun) beneath which (Min Tah'tiha) rivers (El'Anhaaru) flow (Taj'ri); that (Zaalika) is a magnificent (El'Kabiir) achievement (El'Faw'zu).

85:12  Indeed (Inna), the strike (attack) (Bat'sha) of your LORD (Rabbi-ka) is (La) severe (Shadiid).

85:13  Indeed, it (Innahu) is HE (Huwa) who initiates (Yub'diu) and (Wa) repeats (Yueed),

85:14  and (Wa) HE (Huwa) is the FORGIVING (El' Gafuuru), the AFFECTIONATE (El' Waduud),

85:15  Possessor (Zuu) of the Glorious (El'Majiid) Throne (El'Är'shi),

85:16  Doer (Fa’äälun) of whatever (Limaa) HE intends (Yuriid).

85:17  Has (Hal') the discourse (Hadiithu) of the soldiers (El'Junuud) reached you (s) (Ataa-ka);

85:18  Pharaoh (7:103) (Fir'äw'na) and (Wa) Thamud (11:61) (Thamuud)?

85:19  In fact (Bali), those who (Ellaziina) disbelieve (Kafaru') are in (Fii) denial (Tak'ziib),

85:20  while (Wa) GOD (Ellahu) is consciously (Muhiit) beyond them (Min Waraa'i-him).

85:21  In fact (Bal'), it (Huwa) is a glorious (Majiid) reading (Qur'aanun)

85:22  in (Fii) a preserved (Mah'fuuz’) tablet (a pad of paper) (Law'hin).
