They ask you [O Muhammad] about the spoils of war. Say, "The spoils of war are for Allah and the Messenger." So fear Allah and set that fear right in between your [senses, Qur'an 2:1 and sensors Qur'an 24:24, Qur'an 36:65, Qur'an 41:20] and obey Allah and His Messenger, if you are believers.
Indeed, the believers are only those who when Allah is mentioned their hearts get filled with fear, and when His verses were recited upon them, they increased them in faith; and upon their Lord they always rely.
The ones who establish the prayers, and for what We have provided them, they spend [all halal ways].
Those are the believers, truly. For them are degrees with their Lord, and forgiveness, and a noble provision.
[Situation regarding the spoils is] just as when your Lord exited you [O Muhammad] out from your home [for the battle of Badr] in the truth, while indeed, a party of the believers much disliked.
They disputed with you in the truth after what [their joining in the drive] was manifesting, as if they were being driven to the death while they were looking on.
And when Allah promised you one of the two groups, that it would be for you - and you wished that the unarmed one would be for you. But Allah intended to make true the truth by His terms and to sever the roots of the infidels.
That He might prove the truth to be true and the falsehood to be false, even if the criminals disliked it.
[Remember] when you [believers] asked help of your Lord, and He answered for you, "Indeed, I am helping you with a thousand from the angels, following one another."
And Allah made it not except to be good tidings and to tranquil therewith your hearts. And victory is not except only, from Allah. Indeed, Allah is All-Mighty, Wise.
[Remember] when He overwhelmed you with the slumber as security from Him and sent down upon you from the sky water to purify you [from distress, anxiety] with it and remove from you the evil [whisper] of Satan and to strengthen your hearts and plant firmly with it your feet.
[Remember] when your Lord revealed to the angels [guarding humans, Qur'an 13:11], "I am with you, so [O angles] strengthen those who believed. I shall cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieved, so [O angles] strike [them] upon the necks and strike from them every finger."
That is because they opposed Allah and His Messenger. And whoever opposes Allah and His Messenger, for indeed Allah is severe in the penalty.
"Right there! so taste it." And indeed [right here] for the infidels is the punishment of the Fire.
O you who believed, when you encounter those who disbelieved advancing [for battle], do not turn your backs to them.
And whoever turns his back to them on that day, except as a strategy belonging to war or to join to another group, so certainly he has incurred about anger from Allah, and his shelter is Hell, and wretched is the destiny?
And you [O believers] did not kill them, but Allah killed them. And you threw not, [O Muhammad], when you threw, but Allah threw. And He assigns test [homework] for the believers from Him, a good test [using reason to understand metaphor, Qur'an 9:14]. Indeed, Allah is Hearer, Knowing.
That is as that is. Allah will weaken the plot of the infidels.
[O believers] if you seek for victory, then indeed victory has come to you. And if you desist [disobeying Qur'an 8:20], it would be for your good; but if you return [to disobedience], We will return [from enacting Qur'an 8:12], and your group will not avail on you a thing, even if it should increase. And that Allah is with the believers.
O you who believed, obey Allah and His Messenger and do not turn from him while you are hearing [Qur'an 8:6].
And do not be like those who said, "We heard," while they are not hearing.
Indeed the worst kind of moving creations with Allah are the deaf and the dumb, those who do not reason [to understand].
And if Allah had known good in them, surely He would have made them hear; And if He had made them hear, they would still have turned away while they would be turning away many others.
O you who believed, respond to Allah and to the Messenger when he called you to that which gives you life. And know that Allah comes between a person and his heart and that you will be gathered to Him.
And fear a test [homework of collateral damage, Qur'an 8:1, Qur'an 8:6] that will not only afflict to those who oppressed from you exclusively. And know that Allah is severe in the penalty.
And remember when you were a few and considered weak in the earth, fearing that the men may do away with you; then He sheltered you, strengthened you with His help, and provided you with the good things, perhaps you may give thanks.
O you who believed, do not betray Allah and the Messenger nor betray your trusts while you know.
And Know that, that which is your wealth and your children are a test and that with Allah there is a great reward.
O you who believed, if you fear Allah, He will set up criterion for you and will remove from you, your all misdeeds and will forgive you. And Allah is the possessor of great bounty.
And [remember O Muhammad], when those who disbelieved plotted against you to capture you or kill you or exit you out. And they plan, and Allah plans. And Allah is the best of planners.
And when Our verses [of Qur'an] are recited upon them, they said, "Verily, We have heard. If we willed, we could have said [something] like this. Left is nothing in this except legends of the former peoples."
And [remember] when they said, "O Allah, if this - this [Qur'an 16:1] - was the truth from You, then rain down upon us stones from the sky or bring us a painful punishment."
And Allah would not punish them while you [O Muhammad] are in them, nor Allah had been the one who punishes them while they are seeking forgiveness.
But not belongs to them that Allah should not punish them while they are hindering [people] from al-Masjid al- Haram and they were not its guardians. Left is none as guardians of that except those who fear [Allah], but most of them do not know.
And what was their prayer at the House except whistling and hand-clapping? So taste the punishment about what you were disbelieving.
Indeed, those who disbelieve spend their wealth to turn people away from the way of Allah. So they will continue to spend it; then it will be for them a [source of] regret; then they will be overcome. And those who have disbelieved, they will be gathered into Hell.
That Allah may separate the wicked from the good and set up the wicked some of them upon others, and He heap them all together and set up them in Hell. It is those, they are the losers.
Say to those who disbelieved: if they cease [from Unbelief], what was already past will be forgiven for them. But if they return, for sure the precedent of the former peoples has passed away.
And fight them until there is no fitnah [in al-Masjid al- Haram] and [until] the religion becomes, the whole of it for Allah. So if they cease, for sure, Allah is a Seer of what they are working.
But if they turn away, then know that Allah is your protector. Excellent is the protector, and Excellent is the helper.
And know that you obtain as spoils of war nothing; for that to Allah belongs one fifth of it and to the Messenger and to [his] welcoming relatives and to the orphans, and to the needy, and to the [stranded] traveler, if you have believed in Allah and in that which We sent down upon Our slave on the day of criterion, the day when the two armies met [in battle]. And Allah, over every thing, is competent.
[Remember] when you were on the near side of the valley, and they were on the farther side, and the caravan was lower [in position] than you. And if you had made an appointment, you would have differed in the appointment time. But [it was] so that Allah might accomplish a matter that was to be done, to perish those who were perished [through disbelief] on a proof, and to let live those who lived [in faith] on a proof. And indeed, Allah is Hearer, Knowing.
[Remember] when in your dream Allah showed them to you [O Muhammad] as few; and if He had shown them as many, surely you [believers] would have lost courage and disputed in the matter [Qur'an 8:42]. But Allah saved [you from that]. Indeed, He is Knowing about what is in the breasts.
And [remember] when He showed them to you [believers], when you met, as few in your eyes, and He made you few in their eyes, so that Allah might accomplish a matter that was to be done [Qur'an 8:42]. And to Allah [all] the matters return.
O you who believed, when you encounter an [enemy] group, then stall it and remember Allah much, perhaps you may prosper.
And obey Allah and His Messenger, and do not dispute lest you lose courage and your strength departs; and be patient. Indeed, Allah is with the patient ones.
And be not like those [unbelievers] who exit out from their homes insolently and to be seen by people and hinder [people] from the way of Allah. And Allah is about whatever they are working, Encompassing.
And [remember] when Satan sugarcoated their deeds to them and said, "There is no overcomer for you today from the people, and indeed, I am near to you." But when the two armies came in sight of each other, he turned on his heels, and said, "Indeed, I am innocent of you. Indeed, I see what you do not see; indeed I fear Allah. And Allah is severe in punishment."
[Remember] when the hypocrites and those in their hearts are a disease said, "Their religion has deluded those [Muslims]." But whoever relies upon Allah, for sure, Allah is Mighty, Wise.
And if you see [O Muhammad], when the angels recall [the saying, Qur'an 8:49] of those who disbelieved, striking their faces and their backs while [replying on a Day of certainty], "Taste the punishment of the Burning Fire.
That is all about what your [hypocrisy, diseases, sayings in Qur'an 8:49] handed on, a [just] offer. And that Allah is not unjust to the slaves."
[Their way] is like the way of the people of Pharaoh, and those before them. They disbelieved in the verses of Allah, so Allah seized them in their own sins. Indeed, Allah is Powerful, Severe in the penalty.
That is because Allah is not the one who changes a favour which He had bestowed upon a people until they change what is within themselves. And indeed, Allah is Hearer, Knowing.
[Their way] is like the way of the people of Pharaoh, and those before them. They belied about the signs of their Lord, so We destroyed them in their own sins, and We drowned the people of Pharaoh. And all [of them] were oppressors.
Indeed, the worst of moving creatures with Allah are those who disbelieved, so they will not believe.
[As for example] those from them with whom you made a treaty, then they break their pledge every time, and they do not guard [any pledge].
So if you [O Muhammad] dominate them in the war, then uproot by them those who are behind them [their forefather's identity], perhaps they may remember.
And if you fear treachery from any people, so publicly throw [their treaty] back to them on even terms. Indeed, Allah does not love the traitors.
And let not those who disbelieved think they can win. Indeed, they cannot defeat [ Allah ].
And prepare for them whatever you are able of utmost power and of steeds of war in order to terrify therewith Allah's enemies and your enemies and others other than them you do not know them, [but] Allah knows them. And whatever you spend of a thing in the way of Allah, will be fully repaid to you, and you will not be oppressed.
And if they incline to peace, then incline to it and rely upon Allah. Indeed He is the Hearer, the Knowing.
But if they want to deceive you [O Muhammad], for sure Allah is sufficient for you. He is the one who supported you with His help and with the believers,
And He has put affection between their hearts. If you had spent whatever is in the earth, altogether, you could not have produced that affection between their hearts; but Allah has put affection between them. Indeed, He is Mighty, Wise.
O the Prophet, Allah is sufficient for you and whoever followed you of the believers.
O the Prophet, urge the believers upon the fight. If there are from you twenty [who are] steadfast, they will vanquish two hundred. And if there are from you one hundred, they will vanquish a thousand of those who disbelieve, because they [the unbelievers] are a people who do not understand.
Allah has now lightened on you and He knew that in you is [some] weakness. So if there are from you one hundred [who] persevere, they will overcome two hundred. And if there are from you a thousand, they will overcome two thousand by the leave of Allah. And Allah is with the steadfast.
It is not for a prophet to have captives [of war] unless he has battled sternuously in the land. You [some Muslims] desire the commodities of this world, but Allah desires [for you] the Hereafter. And Allah is Mighty, Wise.
If not a Book from Allah had proceeded, you [believers] would have been touched through what you took, a great punishment.
But [now] enjoy what you [believers] got as war booty, lawful, a good thing, and fear Allah. Indeed, Allah is Forgiver, Merciful.
O the Prophet, say to whoever is in your hands of the captives, "If Allah knows [any] good in your hearts, He will give you [something] better than what was taken from you, and He will forgive you; and Allah is Forgiver, Merciful."
And if they seek to betray you [O Muhammad], but certainly they have betrayed Allah before. So He empowered [you] over them. And Allah is Knowing, Wise.
Indeed, those who believed and emigrated [to Madina] and struggled in the way of Allah with their wealth and lives and those who gave asylum and aid, those some of them are allies of some others. But those who believed and did not emigrate, for you of their protection is nothing until they emigrate. And if they seek your help in the religion, then upon you is to help them, except against a people you have between them and between you a treaty. And Allah is what you are working is a Seer.
And those who disbelieved some of them are allies of some others. If you do not do [believers aiding each other], then there will be trail on the earth and great corruption.
And those who believed, and emigrated, and struggled in the way of Allah and those who gave asylum and aid, those are the believers, truly. For them is forgiveness, a noble livelihood.
And those who believed afterwards and emigrated and struggled with you, so, they belong to you. But in the Book of Allah family members are more worthy with one another. Indeed, Allah is about every thing Knowing.
