We have [indeed] decreed that death shall be [ever-present] among you: but there is nothing to prevent Us

We have decreed among you Death; We shall not be outstripped

We have decreed Death to be your common lot, and We are not to be frustrate

naḥnu qaddarnā baynakumu l-mawta wamā naḥnu bimasbūqīn

We [We] have decreed among you the death and not We (are) outrun,

We have [indeed] decreed that death shall be [ever-present] among you: but there is nothing to prevent Us

We mete out death among you, and We are not to be outrun

[The same Creator Who created you] has predetermined your death; none can stop the will of God
